2021, on-goingThe “Inflatable Furniture” collection represents an on-going exploration of the potentials of steel.
The production process shows a symbiotic relationship and collaboration between the material and the designer, as the creator can direct the final shape, while the materials and the forces acting on it ultimately dictate the precise outcome.
The showcased pieces originate from a 1mm steel sheet. Cut, welded and air-inflated with a 8 bar pressure, the objects are then cut in order to make use of the spatial possibilities generated inside the shape, resulting in an ornamental shelf and mirror.
The collection challenges the conventional aesthetic of functional items, by granting them an appealing personality.
